I heard my baby's heart for the first time last night and it was 156. I know some say that certain numbers can indicate a boy and certain numbers indicate a girl. Any truth to that? And what is the range?

you may't tell the speed with the help of the middle beat. a classic fetal heart fee in many circumstances is between one hundred and twenty and one hundred sixty beats in line with minute. at the same time as rumors abound, actually there is not any massive difference between females' and boys' costs, so understanding if the middle beat is quickly or sluggish can not help you to make certain toddler clothing or room decor. The loudness or quietness of the heart beat also does not recommend some thing. The sound has to do basically with the quantity controls on the device, besides because the gap and attitude from the middle to the Doppler. So do not difficulty if it sounds quiet or a procedures away each from time to time.

people say its not true, but above 140 is a girl and below 139 is a boy. With both my last pregnancies, the heartbeat was in the 150-160-170's. And they bothe were GIRLS!!!!!!!. I am almost six weeks pregnant with number 2 and will see/hear the heatrbeat on Jan 25, 2007 and cant wait. I hope it will be a little boy, but I will be happy with what ever God gives me, just so long its healthy, I cant be picky, only greatful. Congrats

With 70% accuracy 120 to 140 beats per minute boy
140 to 160 girl
The theory is that boys heart beat slower because they grow to be bigger than girls. However if the parents are tall people the accuracy of this method is greatly reduced.

i dont know the exact range, but i know the higher it is, they say its a boy (which was true for mt) my sons was always 150s to 160s and this time it is 130s to 140s. this is an old wives tale though, so try not to rely on it too much. good luck

I am having a boy and his is always pretty high. Usually above 140 so I don't think there is much truth in that.

High number is a girl. 156 is a high number--girl. This what my ob/gyn said. It worked for me.
