I ran into financial problems and could not make ends meet then loss my job.

Yes, you'll be hardpressed to find a landlord who will rent to you since you already have a poor record.

Lots of tenants have bad credit, or negative items on their credit. This may be why they're renters and not owners. An eviction for nonpayment is a bad sign to any potential landlord.

HOWEVER--- What you should do is be up front about your eviction when you find a place you want to apply for. Tell them briefly what happened, leave out any drama. Tell them if you are making payments on the back rent and make sure they can contact the previous landlord to verify it.

As long as you can afford the new rent on top of your other payments, and can sound convincing about your desire to be a good tenant and pay the rent, landlords will still rent to you. It will be a little harder for you to find something, but I'm sure you expect that.

I recommend being honest and up front. People will still work with you.

Any new prospective landlord is very concerned with your ability to pay the rent. Sounds like you need a friend or relative to help you until you get back on your feet financially...
