NEVER EVER RUN TWO ANTI VIRUS PROGRAMS AT THE SAME TIME. THEY CAN DO DAMAGE TO YOUR SYSTEM!

It depends on what type of program you are running. If one is a full suite, ie: have a firewall and anti-virus and the other is also a full suite then no, you can't run them both, unless you disable the firewall and anti-virus in one of them which would be a waste of money.

Now, if one is a full suite, and the other is only a spyware, malware like spam etc, then you are fine, as you can run as many spyware and spamware programs you want to on the same machine. In fact, most security professionals reccomend you use multiple spyware programs.

Just ensure you are not running two firewalls or anti-virus programs as this can not only cause interference, but can cause OS instability and even cause a BSD- or Blue Screen of death, which is a Crash.

Now, the manufacturers is not an issue if it is not two versions of Firewalls or Anti-Viruses. Just make sure of this and you are fine.

Hope this helps clear things up for you, good luck and have a happy holliday!

I would not recommend it. Considering that they both are trying to provide the same service for you they could end up conflicting and making your system unstable to the point of crashing. The junk mail you can filter through email settings. As for the system being slow it could be numerous things causing it. I would recommend defragmenting the system to start with. Then check the amount of memory you have. If that is low with no programs open then it is time to add more. Good Luck.

i'm surprised you managed to get norton to work with another antivirus in the first place as it doesn't like to play nicely with other ones, also if you are running two antivirus, then they will almost certainly conflict with each other especially if they both have firewalls as you should only use one firewall at a time. you can however run as many anti SPYWARE programs as you wish but as far as antiVIRUS'S go....... stick to one(and out of the two you have- use McAfee) (norton is poo)

that is absolutely true. Running 2 firewalls will slow down your PC bad. I'd ditch mcaffee and keep norton. after you unstall, get all the latest updates and download adaware from www.lavasoft.com. Delete temp files and cookies, do a defrag...your PC will run like a champ.

I have heard they have a tendency to conflict with each other and that you should only have one security suite installed at a time.

you will need to get rid of one as they are conflicting with each other
once you have you'll see a difference in how it is performing

I can't imagine why you would NEED more than one. Get another email account and don't put it on any websites.
