I would do the older girls/women in darker browns, and gradually go lighter as they get younger., signifying their younger. I would try to do something that shows off their figures, not trashy, do a off the shoulder thing.

congrats on getting married. i had one bridesmaid/maid of honor, cause it was too much stress on me to do all that stuff.

This is your wedding. You wouldn't want someone to make a suggestion about an event that is very special for you. Go to www.davidsbridal.com. You can get a really good idea of what colors will go with the chocolate brown and what does not go well. Good luck and congratulations!

But if you really want chocolate brown as one of your major colors look into a cinnamon color to pair with it. I went to David's Bridal for you and they have a few combinations with the pairing of these colors. Check it out.

Brown is more of a fall/winter color but it is your wedding so make the decision based off what you want and not what everyone is telling you to go with.

Whatever colors you choose, you should take the season you are getting married in into account. In the winter, I love bright reds and shiny greens... In the spring, pastel colors are a good choice. In the fall, maybe a pumkin would compliment the brown. In the summer, pastels as well. Another thing to take into consideration is the sizes of the bridesmaids. If you have plus size bridesmaids, please take their feelings and thoughts into consideration and go from there. Hope this helps.

If you do three colors, make them in the same family. Like brown, off white, and champagne. I think if YOU want all dark brown though, that a good compromise is to let them pick from 3 or 4 dresses all in the same color and fabric. This way, they wear a dress that is cut for them, and YOU get beautiful bridesmides in brown : ) Good luck and congratulations!

Who is paying for these dresses?

You might find the number of attendents cut when the participants realize how expensive the dresses are.

If this is a spring wedding, I suggest brown, yellow, and leaf green. Tie the colors of the gowns into the flowers you select.

Have the adults in a shimmery chocolate brown, since they are the biggest group and that is your preferred color (my friend did this to go with her chocolate theme and it looked great). Have the teenagers in a lighter tan color, and the the younger girls in a cream (befitting their relative youth and innocence).

The different shades will look nice together in the photographs.

You could do different shades of one color. If you're doing a dark brown then I would suggest shades of pink.

Having three different colors for your bridesmaids is only going to take focus off of you.
