Ronaldinho and Gerrard are different kind of players. Ronaldinho's functions are totally offensive, Gerrard plays all over the pitch, he also has deffensive functions. I totally agree it's more fun to watch Ronaldinho play, he makes great goals. Gerrard in the other hand, is just about being effective. Ronaldinho is about talent and magic, Gerrard is about crushing your balls to win the match and he's also really talented, but can't reach Ronaldinho.
I think you can see a remarkable difference that can really distinguish these players from each other.
Ronaldinho: Remember the World Cup? He sucked. Remember the Champions League final against Arsenal? Not what we expected from him.
Gerrard: Remember the Champions League final a year ago? First half: Milan 3 - Liverpool 0. Remember what happenned? He scored at the beginning of the second half and took his team to victory. HE WON THAT MATCH.
Now, if you watch the Premier and Spanish League, you could say Ronaldinho is much better than Gerrard. But remember something: there are 38 matches in every season.
How many matches in the World Cup and Champions League?
World Cup: 7 at the most.
Champions League: 14 at the most.
What I mean by this, is that in a tournament where you play 38 matches, there isn't much pressure to handle, you can loose a game and just get oveer it. It isn't like that in a World Cup or Champions League, you loose a match, you're out.
So, I think Gerrard is a much better pressure-handler and a better LEADER (I'm not saying Ronaldinho isn't a great leader), but Ronaldinho is better in a regular basis.
Now it's up to you. You could say Gerrard is better because he excels in important matches or, you could say Ronaldinho is better because these high- pressure matches don't come very often and it's more important to do better in a regular basis.

How do you even dare to ask this question?
Ronaldinho is the best player all the way. Don't get me wrong because I know Gerrard is a good player, but Ronaldinho is way better.
Liverpool would be all right if Gerrard goes, it wouldn't make such a difference, but if Ronaldinho leaves his team, then Barcelona would fall apart, they need him.
Ronaldinho makes the difference in his team and Gerrard doesn't.

Ronaldinho for sure. he has got more talent and ability to score some unbelievable goals when needed. Gerrard is definitely one among the best in passing the ball and taking long range shots, but overall Ronaldinho has better dribbling ability and all-round performance than Gerrard.

Ronaldinho is way better than Gerrard. Gerrard's good but doesn't come close to Ronaldinho's skill level.

Ronaldinhio is a player that can do magic with the ball and turn the match alone without his team but Gerrard always needs the little support of his team mates. Gerrard is not a striker but naturally attacking midfielder but Ronaldinhio is an out an out striker as well as an aggressive midfielder. The number of chances created by Ron in a match for Barca or the the other players is much more than those by Gerrard.

They have different techniques. Ronaldo is skillfull. Gerrard is a workhorse, skillfull and can score from 30 some odd meters away, and he doesn't fall easily in the box like Ronaldo. Utd won alot of games last season with Ronaldo winning penalty kicks.G's can also cross and pass to where-ever he is aiming. So out of 10, I'd say Stevie is 8 and Ron is 6.
