it seems your friend has many things to do and can only make excuses for the things she does not want to hear or do. Your friend is not being respectful to you and get back to you when she should just because she know you will call her back. I think it is time once again and put your foot down and let her know you are not going to put up this anymore and are tired of her excuses. You might want to consider not being friends with her anymore and make some new ones. It is obvious that she does not care aboout you and what you think so do her the same way at some point if she wants to be a real friend she will get back to you and start caring about what your think. you are doing what you have to. Don't feel gullty you are doing the best you can and you have done your part. Now it is up to her to make a move and figure out what she wants to do.

Unfortunately you may have to deal with the fact that you no longer have this person as a friend never mind a best friend. However before you completely rule her out of your life have you ever stopped to think that maybe something is going on in her life that she's trying to deal with and it's stressing her out big time? In this case you may need to be the bigger person and continue to contact her first. If you want her to be in your life you may have to keep the lines of communication opened. By you calling her you're showing that you care for her and you want to be friends still. You need to decide if your friendship is worth you being the bigger person, if so then you need to do just that be the bigger person. If not then you need to let her go and deal with the fact that your friend is over.

Somethimes people are so caught up with their lives that they forget people that they don't see daily. And because of that they drift apart. You may just have to let it go. Remember the good times.

She has grown away from you. Cherish the memory of the old friendship, and move on. Clearly, this friend thinks of you as a friend she used to have, and she is now doing things with new friends.
