To keep her on her toes? Is that some kind of threat to her or something? If she doesn't behave you'll replace her? I personally wouldn't stand for that if it were my own husband introducing me like that. Men are just as easily replaced these days!
Anyway. I introduce my 'other half' by saying 'this is my husband' and then I state his name. He introduces me in the same manner but as his wife.

First of all I believe the half thing is not a good thing. We are all whole people. I know that they say at the wedding ceremonies "two become one." Do they lose their identity? I don't get it. I would introduce my husband if I had one as my husband. Plain and simple. What does your wife do to keep you on your toes?

Well seeing as how you do this misdeed "just to keep her on her toes" how many times are you going to insult her like that? Until she starts introducing you as the "soon to be first alimony check"?
Assuming your worth keeping, I wouldn't be wasting her pretty little toes on being tippy as she will get bunyons and you'll spend the rest of your life rubbing her oh so miserable feet that you caused as a result of your being so "thoughtful".
Seeing as how I'm divorced myself, I would now introduce my previous husband as the "Ex From He double L" and that is the "thoughtful" nickname.
............think about it..and cut it OUT!................

It sounds as if you are the one who needs keeping on your toes.
It is a most inconsiderate way to speak about someone you claim to love.
Treat her better or you soon may be introduced as her former husband!!
