Because so many people these days get offended and get their feelings hurt. Plus you have people who will sue for just about anything. Some people would probably rather deal with their own things than have someone cause problems with them for saying something.

I cannot tell you how many times I have been blasted for speaking my mind, yet I still do it.

Most people I know are not afraid to speak their minds. In fact, if someone does not speak up or defend a belief, that belief is not valid.

Believe nothing that, by voicing it, will not get you intensely loved and adored by few and reviled and persecuted by many!

Fear of how people will react,
and acceptance.
Everyone wants to be accepted by society, but people are afraid to speak up, because if they do, society no longer accepts them,

If you have rebel ideas about evolution,
Or believe in a different path to God,

But then there are those people that have NO fear in speaking their mi8nd's

But they fail to make cohearant sentances, ie: the racist bullsh*t.

Fear of persecution. Peer pressure. That someone won't like what they have to say or that they will be challenged on their views. Then there is a group of people that have very little going on in their minds so it is best left unsaid.

For me, it's a self esteem issue. I want others to like me, so usually I find myself trying to say things I know they'll agree with. However, when I realized this about myself, that's when I was able to start speaking up for myself. I still don't want to offend people, but I also have to be who I was made to be.

I think that they are afraid they might say something wrong. People want to fit in so they try their best to mold into want society wants them to be.

Maybe the way they were raised or they are just trying to be polite, because some people who do speak their mind are outspoken and rude.

Wouldn't you hate to be know as the person who "knows it all" how about the person who THINKS "she knows it all." I think people are afraid to speak out and be wrong and then look like an idiot.
