I am 32 weeks pregnant.. I have noticed that in the past week or so, my baby is moving slightly less, and the movements feel different.. He is still moving regularly.. Just not as hard or often as before.. Does anyone have any idea why this would be? Should I be concerned?

Your baby should be moving as frequently as he has for the last month or so. Every baby has her own pattern of activity and there's no correct one. As long as you don't notice any major changes in your baby's activity level, chances are she's doing just fine.

For an added sense of security, many practitioners recommend that after 28 weeks, you monitor your baby's movements at least once or twice a day. There are lots of different ways to do these "kick counts," so check with your caregiver about how she wants you to track your baby's movements. Here's one common approach: Choose a time of day when your baby tends to be active. (Ideally, you'll want to do the counts at roughly the same time each day.) Sit quietly or lie on your side so you won't get distracted. Time how long it takes for you to feel ten distinct movements — kicks, twitches, and whole body movements all count. You should feel at least ten movements within two hours. (Don't worry; it probably won't take that long. Sometimes you'll feel ten kicks within the first ten minutes.) If you don't feel ten movements in two hours, stop counting and call your midwife or doctor.

Dont worry its normal!! Like everyone said...its the lack of space. If your really worried you should try laying down and count the number of times it moves...for instance the average number is 10 movements an hour, this means punches, rolls, etc...if you feel less movement, than its recommended to see your doctor otherwise your baby is OK!!!

Yes, it's probably the lack of space. Also, he could be working his way around and down into the position he will need to be in when you give birth. That may be why the movements feel different. As long as when you are doing "kick counts," you feel at least 10 movements (of any kind) within one hour, everything should be fine. :)

there is a whoile lot less room in there as the baby grows in your abdomen. sometimes the baby will move a lot less toward the end of the pregnancy.

drink orange joince and lay on your side and see if htat helps the baby move a bit... also give your doc or midwiofe a call and check in with them. they can do a nonstress test to make sure things are a-okay.

i had the same thing happen. and it freaked me out, and it turns out this is what they told me...

good luck and congrats!!!!

Totally normal -- in fact, it's what should be happening! Baby is growing, so the little guy has less room to move around. So he's not moving now so much as he's "squirming." No problem. As long as you feel him in there, doing something, all is well :)

Your baby is running out of space to move around as much. As long as the baby is moving regularly, I wouldn't worry.
