The cable you have from the modem to you system for internet you would unplug from your computer and into the router via the internet port. From there you would use another cable from the router using port 1,2 or 3 to your computer. You may need to clone that mac address of your computer it input into some router settings. The mac address is how some internet service providers authenticate their customers. If you need more help with it feel free to email me. Good Luck.

I do not think that cable TV goes through the router or modem. It is connected to the cable just like the cable modem using a coaxial connection.
The VOIP phone and Internet connection DO share the modem and router. The phone requires a VOIP device unless that is already part of the router.
Most wireless routers also have ethernet (wired) connections. You should connect your computer to the wired connection initially to configure the router. Once that's working, you can disconnect the wired connection and use the wireless connection if the router has been set up properly.

Talk to your provider, Comcast. They may have a solution. They may block other routers but their own for all I know or there may be some settings that have to be adjusted that they'll know about...........this is what your paying them for....ask.
