Mostly that it is a study that can take a lifetime. Legends and myths have many commonalities as well as variations and once you begin to research them they become quite encompassing. Here are some sites:

What is your specific question? I know quite a few legends of quite a few traditions, but we need something specific here.

That's a very big question as each and every society and or culture has it's legends.
