Someone rubbing a balloon -- I can't stand that. I freak out when someone makes those balloon animals!! The other worst sound (for me) is when metal grates against metal -- for example, when two forks get stuck together. That sound drives me nuts!

Why out of those two?
The worst sound out of the two has to be nails on a chalk board.
What about metal scratching glass or keys scratching your car?

I think DEFINATELY the nail on the chalkboard. That makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Very similiar to someone scraping a fork on a dinner plate. There's just something about it that goes RIGHT through me... it's like it even makes my teeth hurt.... ICK!

Both are equally annoying and harsh on your ears. But to answer your question if you ask the guilty party they will tell that a slap on their face is the worst sound.

the chalk board....it makes me shudder just to think about it!...the balloon thing has never bothered me..
