I've seen this a few times on honda's. They are bad about the bearing/bushing in the distributor to go bad and cause the shaft to get hot, and melt the rotor button causing your timing to be out of wack. Pull distributor cap off and check to see if the rotor button is melted and check if you can see the screw on side of rotor button.
If it is, then you can replace the rotor button to get you by for a short time, but in the end you will have to replace the whole distributor. hope this helps!

Samantha if the check engine light blinks the car is telling you what is wrong with it. Find a repair manual with light codes or someone who can help with them. The light may flash once but keep watching it. It may flash a few more times. Then if it has a repeating pattern then you will know the light code.

Won't start how?

Turn the key and nothing happens? Dead battery.

Turn the key and makes awfull banging sound? Timing belt, broken connecting rod, or something realy bad going on.

Turn the key and engine turns, but won't start? Fuel pump, ignition problem, broken timing belt.

is the engine turning over but not starting, or is it not turning over at all?

if it doesn't crank at all check your battery and alternator. maybe your alternator died. with no alternator it won't take long for your battery to die.

if it cranks but doesn't start you might have shot your timing belt if it just died on you like that. in which case you shouldn't try to start it either.
