These are disgusting responses.
Providing you are asking a legitimate question, They serve mostly hot dogs, hamburgers, bologna type of meats. If a person is on a specific diet that they cannot eat meat or are a vegetarian, it can be eliminated from their plate. Or they just give it to them and if they don't eat it, it gets thrown away. It depends on the policy of the particular prison.
My husband is in prison and he says he won't eat half the stuff they give him. It's mostly starch and not enough fruit and vegetables to help them stay healthy. Sometimes if they are lucky they might get a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Yeah, they are in there for a crime they committed, but they need nutrition.
