It's important to accept the fact that there is evil in us, so that we can understand it and work to defeat it.

I feel that ALL PEOPLE have some degree of evil in them however, very few of us want to accept this as fact. Evil's common definition is usually someone that would commit murder or other deviant crimes against their fellow man. Evil is actually any type of wrong that may be committed against another (i.e. selling a house to someone for a premium price when the house may have some level of damage, causing someone to loose their job due to a minor problem, etc).
Those persons who feel that they have no evil in their heart live in a fantasy world with a self image of piousness.

I've accepted that I am both evil and good. People accept the good in them most of the time because that's what society demands. By accepting their "goodness" they find they can control it. Don't embrace your evil unless you can control your goodness. You will do evil things which you can't control if you don't accept your goodness first.
I've accepted and embraced both my evil and my good. I can control both. Without evil, goodness would die. It's called the perfection of balance and it defines my entire life.

It makes it easier to express, if you use terms like 'good' and 'evil.' But it makes is SO much harder to deal with after you do. Yes, they are 'opposites.' But they are also EXTREMES. And as soon as you start expressing opinions in terms of extremes, there is very little room for the reality that is the 'in-betweens.'
Furthermore, good and evil, expressed as relative terms, don't have any meaning, unless you are comparing one item with another. (something / someone is better or worse than another; he is basically good, but has a mean streak). As Oscar Wilde said, "It is of no use to describe people as good or evil. They are either charming or tedious." Try using those terms instead, and see where it takes you.

i accepted my evil side along time and some people almost died does that explain more or less why we "shouldn't" accept the evil in us.

Theres nothing wrong with accepting it. We just have to work to control it unless this will be one sad world we will be living in.
