a hoover???
unless it is a dyson or one of those hoovers that does the job alone by itself when you press the button, I'd leave that one well alone!!
A pair of slippers? are they really really beautiful slippers? are they designer slippers? why are you choosing a pair of slippers
I tend to think of christmas as a special occasion, dont you? do you think your wife does? if so, then TREAT her- do/buy/take her somewhere special (all three if your looking for brownie points!)
If your stuck for ideas, try to find out her favorite shop or place of interest, (nb if this is a clothes store, take an item of clothing -her most favored one is best, as when you ask for advice, the clothing should be of help to the assistant to get the right size, colour..which she likes or colours, styles, etc which look good with it
or do you get off on being slapped?

I like the hoover idea, but it may get you in much more trouble than the slippers.

You buy her a Hoover, she thinks you only care about her cleaning, slippers are so out. Try diamonds or a gift certificate to a spa! OR make her dinner and try her like royalty.

Give her both.She needs the slippers for when she is hoovering up.Go on be generous,she will love you for it.

i personally would love a hoover but one of those fancy do it all hoovers that wash carpets and all.......why not get the slippers too but put some jewlery in the toes for her to find :)

Never buy your wife any appliances for Christmas. Slippers say that you didn't want to spend the time to pick out a good gift. Both ideas scream "I didn't want to spend the time or thought into something good". Please re think your gift ideas or you might want to find the most comfortable spot on the couch. Good Luck.

The hoover definately............You can cause more damage hitting someone with a hoover than a pair of slippers..
