I am making bottle cap magnets and poured resin into them last night. I followed the instructions re catalyst but the resin is still slightly tacky this morning. Will this harden up or did I not put enough catalyst in? Any suggestions on getting this stuff to harden up before Christmas?

Most craft resins usually take 24 hrs. at a reasonably warm temperature to set up, so they're probably just not quite done yet.

There's lots of info on using resins (including curing) on this page at my site though if you want to check it out:

(don't know if you're using a polyester or an epoxy resin though... if polyester, that could make a difference re it's top surface... read more about that at the link above).

Good luck,

You can try curing it in an oven or under heat. I'm not sure what kind of resin you used but if your lucky what might happen is you can get it to cure at a higher temperature and when it cools down it might harden. It will return to a liquid state at higher temps though.

Avoid doing it in a gas oven, if the resin outgases you can get an explosion.

You didnt pour enough catalyst in. I do potting samples all the time. Unforutanetly your bottle cap is ruined because the stuff wont completely harden and you wont be able to get it out.
