First, the earth has a cycle. Regardless of us being here the earth would warm up and then cool down. As it has done in the past without any human interference. In prehistoric times the entire world was a tropical paradise. Then there was an ice age and now we are in a time of temperate weather. This is all going to change. There is no way to stop it. We are going to have to adapt. We are a smart species we should be able to.

Because if you don't grasp scientific concepts easily, it is hard to wrap your mind around something like "Day After Tomorrow" actually happening.
Then again, maybe they'd rather just NOT think about it.
This winter we are having really makes me wonder how close we are to something major happening, though.
