I want to get my ear pierced and just wondering if it hurts more or less than a blood test? thanks

People make a big deal out of it probably because of the word "piercing", or because they want to brag about their courage!
When you get a shot or a blood test, it last for a while and the needle is bigger, and keep stinging into your flesh. When you pierce your ear, especially with a piercing gun, it is a split of a second and you do not even realize that it is already over. There is no time for pain, it is too fast; Just a weird sensation for a few hours to have something in your ear (of course) but I would not call that pain. Then, follow the cleaning instructions the place where you get pierced gives you and you should be fine. Go for it with no apprehension and you will not regret it.

I have my ears pierced. it only hurt at all for about a minute or so, and after 2-3 seconds it did not hurt much. My sister had a blood test recently, and she said that it hurt a lot more than getting her ears pierced.

It hurts less than a blood test, you really can't even feel it. I have my ear lobes pierced three times, my cartlidge, my tragus (which is the piece of cartlidge connected to the opposite side of your ear) and my nose pierced. If you're afraid of pain, I wouldn't recommend the latter three, but ear lobe piercings don't hurt at all. I had mine done when I was four weeks, eleven & thirteen. I'm also anemic and I have to go for blood tests every other week and I think they hurt a lot more than getting your ears pierced. Hope that helps..good luck!

Ear Lobe pierce.
The needle goes through your skin and not your cartilage so it would hurt more else where. It's quick and you don't feel a lot of pain. It's just a small hole they make and you leave the earring on for a couple of weeks so the hole doesnt close.
A blood test.
Now it depends what kind of blood test. Like on your finger or behind. 0.o But then if you're donating your blood, that's different. You should check out the needle 0.o.

I had my ear pierce when I was 6 months old. I don't even remember how it feels, but I think I like blood test too.. It doesn't hurt that much!

Ive never had the blood test, but ear lobe piercing doesnt heart that bad. id say the blood test.

I've never had a blood test. But I got my ears (lobe) pierced and I couldn't feel it. They did it with a piercing gun and it was instananeous and all I felt was a little hotness afterward in my ear. I've heard cartilage piercings hurt more though?

you should go for it! it doesn't really hurt. I've had my ears pierced three times. and once they stick a mirror in front of your face, and you see that earring, you'll forget the little bit of discomfort that goes along with getting it! now go get it done, and let us know what you think about your new look!

it's just my opinion, but the blood test hurts worse, and you don't look any better after it's done!

a blood test isnt that bad but then neither is a piercing on your ear lob. I have like 3 on each side and it hurt at the time . . . which everything should when you poke a hole in you body! but I think that you'll be fine. When I got my belly button done I was concentrating on wiggling my toes or fingers or just thinking of something that was out of that room. I hope that this helps you in some way!

I think having your blood taken is worse. Getting a pierced ear is a piece of cake!
