I think that I would make the race
Hawaiian.
They do not look white, and they do not look black. They have a obscure complexion, but everyone would be the same race.
If you chose white, then there would be mad African Americans, and if you chose African American then there would be mad Caucasians.
I think it would have to be a race where the colors could mesh, and everyone could understand the next persons lives better.
There would not be interracial dating, and or interracial children. There would be one race. NO prejudices!..

Politicians would find some other feature to divide people over, so as to control them.

It wouldn't change anything, unfortunately. Racists, extremists, bigots, and xenophobes would simply find some other physical feature to focus their hatred on.
