In my school most of the African American kids seem to have a family in school (not saying the Caucasians dont but I see more African americans doing this). Like for me, my big sister is a year older and if I am not doing what I am supposed to be she iwll confrotn me about it and then do somethign about it. Her sister is my other big sister and she does the same thing. I do the same thing for my little Brother Chris and my othe big sister T. I know must of the highschoolers and if they fidn out I am doign something they will take control to make sure I am doign what I am supposed to do.

Do kids near you do that? Why do you think they ddo that? Is there a purpose for these kids? Why do you think so?

My purpose: I get off track and need people to help me sometimes and who better than the people who I think of as my siblings?

yeah, that's common. my bff has a sister in the 6th grade and we are in the 8th. i have an older sister in the 12th grade and a little sister in the 2nd grade. most of my friends are only children, but some of them have siblings a few years older or younger then them.

In my school, people do not do that. I do not see the high school environment I am in a family environment. I attend a mostly African American school and it seems like that most people are just looking out for themselves. That is not a bad thing because it really builds your independence. But it should be more like a family environment though because everyone could be your support system, your chances of success increases, and the overall student participation becomes more positive.
