You could collect a whole bunch, then put them in a pillowcase and use it as a nice pillow

I wash my Dad's old holey t-shirts and socks, cut them into rags and put them in a basket in the garage. They're great for cleaning your car!

Make sock puppets! Use felt or some other fabric to make eyes, a nose, and mouth. Find creative ways to cover the hole(s) with fabric (a hat, etc.) Have fun!

Your av makes you look like a bit of an outdoorsey type so how about putting one inside another (to get rid of the holes) then filling them with sand. Instant water filter.

i had some wicked hello kitty socks and when my mum made me throw them out i cut the toe part off and kept the top half, and used it as a book cover ( for a small a5 notebook)
Looked pretty cool.
