i gave some people presents yesturday (as you do) but not this girl as she is not particularily close and i could not afford one. Later she was with a friend who i gave a gift, i asked the one i gave the gift to if she liked it cos i was curious. Then later she was in form room crying and today i find out that it's cos i was excluding her? Is she bullsh!tting? or am i bitchy?

No, I don't think you're being a *****. If you're not particularly close, then you shouldn't have to buy her anything. And if she has a paddy about that, just explain that to her, that you couldn't afford it and that as you two aren't really close, you didn't feel that you had to get her one. Tell her not to take it personally, and if she does, its her problem.

I think u did the r8 thing if this girl is only ur class mate and not really ur friend so u shouldnt feel bad bout it coz u ve got no fault. u couldnt think tht she ll feel 2 be excluded. by the way did she gift u anything?! if she did then it would b anotehr matter, then u should give her a present 2.
however, theres no reason 2 cry bout this thing as this girl did!

If you don't know her, then no, you shouldn't have given a present. On the other hand, could you not have waited until this girl was away from the group, before giving out the presents, or even waited until your friend was alone before asking her about hers? Then this girl wouldn't have known anything about your present. Now you've upset a lot of people, & caused a lot of bad feeling.

Is she the only one without a present? If so understandable feeling left out but if not well generally people only buy pressies for those they are close too. Do you expect to get one from her?

If you didn't have her on your "Christmas" list then stop worrying about it - no need to feel guilty she's the one with the insecurity, she'll get over it! Crikey, if I had to buy presents for everyone I knew I would be bankrupt.

I don't really know who's at fault becaus you said you weren't really close. so you really didn't have to give her anything. I guess you just need to decide if you want to get her something now or leave things the way they are. she may get over it, or she may not like you anymorem but if you really aren't friends then it shouldn't matter.
