To service an average automatic transmission (change filter and fluid, check linkage) is usually $79.99. Find a reputable shop or they will "find" problems and rip you. I try to stay away from national chain shops (quick lube, sears, ect) and use the smaller ma and pa shops that have a good reputation.

The price varies but, we need to know what make/Model of vehicle you need the change done on. Some vehicles need specific tranny fluid and, having it done at say a Penzoil or Jiffy lube can damage the tranny itself if they don't use the correct fluid, thus voiding any warrant you may have!

I have seen it as low as $9.95 and as high as $49.95. The low ones are usually a come-on and they will tell you that you need more service.
