The first original version was written by Tony Rich for his Tony Rich Project, entitled 'Nobody Knows'. Tony was on an airplane on his way to his father's funeral when he quickly wrote the song. It became a number one hit for the Tony Rich Project and at the same time, also a number one hit for a country artist (can't remember who at the moment though). :-)
