YES! It bothers me a lot. A LOT.
Notice the thumbs-down sign on answers from those bothered by X-mas? That's the society we live in, full of anti-Christ folk.
Even your question got a thumbs-down for it and I gave it a thumbs-up. Society is becoming more and more hostile to Christians now a days.
But we can only pray and be strong because we are commanded by Jesus to love and not hate.
Thank you for asking this question.
Merry Christmas to you!

It did- until I learned why people say X-mas instead of Christmas. The X is not there to eliminate Christ; in fact it is just an abbreviation. The Greek letter Xi is best represented by an X; and Christ's (who had a Greek name by the way) was Xi. Thus, the term X-Mas.

"X" is just a quicker way of writing "Christ." There's nothing evil or offensive about it; it's just an abbreviation. I've seen religious/Biblical scholars use "X" on many occasions The "X" is used for "Christ" and "Xian" is used for "Christian." This shorthand originated in Christianity, and Christians have been using it for about a thousand years!
The word "Christ" comes from "Christos," which when spelled in Greek starts with an "X." It also has to do with the ichthys fish, which is a Greek acronym for "Jesus Christ God's Son is Savior."
There is a lot of misconception about the "X," especially the idea that people are trying to "take the Christ out of Christmas," which isn't true. "X" is used by Christians and scholars alike as a quicker way of writing "Christ." It is also not a sideways cross. While this may be a solution to the "Xmas" debate, it is not based on fact. It would be better if the Christians knew the importance behind their iconography, including the abbreviation of the word "Christ."

there is not any grand scheme to dilute Christianity with the help of promoting using xmas extremely of Christmas. it isn't a cutting-edge invention to attempt to remodel Christmas right into a mundane day, neither is it a gadget to promote the commercialism of the holiday season. Its foundation is punctiliously rooted interior the heritage of the Church. that is basically yet in a unique thanks to say Christmas, drawing on a lengthy historic previous of symbolic abbreviations used interior the church. in truth, as with different abbreviations utilized in elementary speech or writing (which includes Mr. or and so on.), the abbreviation "xmas" should be reported "Christmas" basically as if the note were written out in finished, extremely than declaring "exmas." information this use of Christian symbolism may help us cutting-edge day Xians concentration on extra important topics of the religion for the period of introduction, and convey somewhat extra Peace to the xmas Season.

I've never heard anyone say "X-mas." I've only seen them write it.
And no, it doesn't. Haven't you noticed how the "X" looks a bit like a sideways cross? Yeah, it's a Christian symbol.
And people complain about non-Christians being oversensitive.

Not at all there was a time in history when Christians had to hide their belief and the "X" was just another way of doing so like some of the alternate symbols to the cross. some of the other answers contained herein explain this better than I. Don't forget there are still places in the world where our belief in Christ is not acceptable, their loss.

I didnt bug me in the past, until NOW we have so much political mess surrounding the holiday and petitions etc to take CHRIST out of EVERYTHING! So, I am more deliberate in making sure I do not take the "Christ" out. Because, he is the reason for the season.

Absolutely not. Because I know why people abbreviate it that way (hint: it's not offensive in the least if you know about the Greek language). However Xmas is only abbreviated in writing or typing, not speech.
