Ginger ale is fine, as it does not contain any caffeine, and usually helps morning sickness. It is better to find a natural one though that doesn't contain high fructose corn syrup. Any health food store like Trader Joes or Whole Foods carry lots of them.

Not only is it not bad for the baby, it may be good for you. Ginger has been proven to help settle stomachs better than some Rx drugs. Ginger ale and ginger tea are some of the ways you can drink it. Or, if you can handle it on a queasy stomach, chew on a small piece. Mind you it will be spicy.

PS I lived on anything ginger while prego with my son. Kept me from puking all over everyone at work.

Ginger ale will not hurt the baby. If you can find real ginger ale (actually has ginger in it) it is even better, it helps with morning sickness. My doctor recommended this homeopathic treatment for me but ginger made me feel worse but for a lot of women it calms the nausea.

Sure. Some Ginger ale to help your tummy is just fine. Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting" by Heidi Murkoff. It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. I refer to it almost daily right now and I am due Feb 2, 2007. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck!

Ginger ale is not an ale but a fizzy drink made with Ginger Flavouring. It is non alcoholic and will not harm the baby at all Ginger beer is fermented from yeast and ginger root and may contain alcohol.

Drink away baby! Ginger Ale is good if you are feeling sick. Although the taste does suck! The only thing you can't drink is alcoholic beverages. Just remember caffeine goes to the baby also, so not only are you awake but so is the baby.

You can drink GingerAle...it is often very helpful with morning sickness...The only thing you want to avoid is large caffine intake and I believe Ginger Ale is Caffine free. You may want to avoid drinking a large amounts of Ginger Ale because soda in general in not great for you...but it won't hurt you baby.

Sugar is the only issue. And that is personal choice. Ginger ale may help nausea. Drink to you and your baby's health.

Yes ginger ale is okay to drink. But if you're like me and have really bad morning sickness it can make you feel worse. I know for most people it helps, but it didn't for me.
