i wouldnt mind someone calling me a porch monkey coz i havent a clue what it is supposed to mean

No I haven't a clue what it means and to be honest have never heard of it either. Must be one of those Yank things I suppose.

It's referring to all of the black people you see sitting on their porches 24/7. Stroll through the hood and you see masses of people on porches at all hours of the day. As for the monkey part, unfortunately, blacks have been referred to as monkeys for a very long time. Thus the phrase "Porch Monkey"

That phrase is a derogatory term for a black person, often used during slavery time. As slaves worked on the porches of their white masters, they were referred to as porch monkeys.
Of course this is a just a phrase containing words. What is painful and hurtful is the INTENT behind the usage of such words.
You should never "not mind" someone calling you such a derogatory term, and I have a hard time believing your statement.

I always thought a "porch monkey" was someone who enjoyed sitting on the porch after dinner or just to visit with neighbors, like a couch potato is someone who enjoys T.V. So unless you mean it to be racist I don't think it is.

porch monkeys is a term that was given to poor black folks by white people in the south who sat out on their front porches in the heat of the summer or any evening, to socialize with each other.

LOL you have been watching Clerks 2 huh.... Good movie..lol... well porch monkey is refered to black people that is the monkey part becayse rasist people claim blacks look like monkies and for the porch part is because they say that black people are lazy....
The movie should have explained it all to you if ya watch it again then you will get it ...
