I’m not seeing one group of relatives for Christmas until Dec. 26th and really don’t want to spend money on gifts. I’m thinking since I have to throw the live tree out after Christmas anyway it will make a nice gift for them. They also live more of a country/wooded area so they can just toss in the woods once it completely dies. Plus, they normally don’t take their own tree down until after New Years so they will have TWO (2) Christmas trees on display for at least a week. Not too many folks can say they have two trees. My question(s), is this a proper gift and should I leave the tinsel on it for them?

Fabulous! Bring them your dirty laundry too!

You'd be better off not getting them anything at all rather than giving them your garbage - because that's technically what your used tree is, garbage.

First, would YOU be thrilled if you got a tree the day after the holiday? No? Didn't think so.

Second, get an artificial tree and stop killing the live ones, then you don't have the problem of what to do with it when the holiday is over.

Third, find something even marginally thoughtful to bring along with you, like a gift card for McDonald's or something, or, if money's tight, just get them a card.

I would not give the tree. This sounds like a lazy man's way of cleaning after the holiday, not an earnest gift. Keep your tinsel. Buy them a gift basket.

No, no, no, no, no.
Only Christmas fanatics want gifts with a Christmas theme. Something you are definitely going to throw away (it IS already in the process of dying) is NOT a present. It is using your relatives as a garbage dump. I HATE getting Christmas themed Christmas gifts. Why give me something that I can only use in December?
And WHY would these people want TWO Christmas trees? You know, it would be one thing if they were poor and you bought them a tree at the BEGINNING of December because they couldn't afford to buy their own tree. But if they've already got one, why the hell would they want yours?

It's in bad taste to give them a Christmas tree the day after Christmas.
Christmas and the Christmas spirit is not about money spent, but remembering the reason for the season, and for spending time with loved ones, not for asking them to clean up your tree after your done with it.

it may be an uncomplicated thank you to do away with it, with out you having to take it off someplace. i could go away the tinsel on it, why could you get rid of from the wonder. it particularly is unlike you will use it lower back next year besides. Have a Merry Christmas.

Let me tell you what I would do if someone where to give a F****** Christmas tree for Christmas. I would light it on fire and throw it through there window! Face it honey, if that's the only thing you can think of, then you have to hate them. Get them one of those Christmas tins with the three different flavors of popcorn; cheese popcorn, carmel popcorn, and original popcorn!! Good Luck!

Wow, I hope you are joking!
If money is tight, talk about drawing names, then you just have to buy one gift and you will receive one gift.
I hope you get the Holiday Spirit and that you have a Merry Christmas.

This is the stupidest thing I have heard this morning. I know you are just kidding and that you have a terrific sense of humor that you are sharing with us! In that case, Ha! Ha! In the case that you really are an idiot, shame on you. Go empty handed instead of taking your garbage with you.

wow sounds like you just lazy. "here's your christmas present...my christmas tree!! would you mind getting rid of it for me? thanks!!"

there are so many non-expensive things you could give to relitives. Baked goods are fairly non-expensive, rather than buying the cookies, brownies, cakes at the store already made for you.
