NO!

Ultrasonic waves are just sound waves. Sound waves are a compression wave in a material, a motion of the atoms that make up the material. Sound and ultrasound waves conduct through a substance but cannot conduct through empty space.

Electromagnetic waves are disturbances in the electric and magnetic fields that exist everywhere in space. No atoms or matter of any kind is needed to propagate this kind of wave. Electromagnetic waves, like radio, light, ultraviolet light and so on, radiate through empty space and can actually be stopped, or at least be interfered with, by matter.

i got confused wid dis as well wen we were studying ultrasound at skool.
basically, ultrasound or ultrasonic waves are sound waves with a frequency much higher than what the human ear is sensitive to.
you are confusing ultrasonic waves to ultraVIOLET rays. ultraVIOLET rays ARE electromagnetic waves but ultraSONIC waves ARE NOT electromagnetic waves.

Go for answer 1.

The term for things that travel faster than sound is SUPER SONIC. Things that travel slower than sound are SUB SONIC. Things that have a frequency too low to hear are INFRA SONIC. Things that have a frequency too high to hear are ULTRA SONIC.

Wish people on here would get this right!

Grrr.

No. They are sound waves we can't hear, on the top end of the frequency scale, like ultra violet light waves we can't see that are on the top end of the light wave scale.
