Every Computer Wizard Cat has known has been someone who believed their own PR and wasn't much good. If they're really good, they don't call themselves Wizards, because then too many people want them to do stuff! We had an IT guy (Idiot Tech at our shop) who came in with the rep that he could do ANYTHING... well, maybe he could, he sure saved it up enough! Never did squat while he was with us. 6 months, 4 projects, none of them more than a days' worth of work! rrrrrrrrr

To answer Dragon's actual qwestion: They don't, usually, because they're afraid you'll get good and take their job.

Cat don't like Computer Wizards! rrrrrrrrr

Yer welcome!

Computer wizards do take apprentices, but only so that they can suck their life force. I tried to apprentice to a computer wizard once, and he almost drained my life essence so that he could further define the mysteries of microsoft. I had to run away and was very skeered for a very long time.

If you are comfortable on a computer and know the problems with spyware, virus, limewire, and kazza, you are a computer expert.
