i actually googled this question and found ya guys..i have this dilema in my championship, besides yahoo, which ranks miami 3 and new england 4, most sites rank new england 3this week and miami around 7-8..i think it's a low rank..heres why i want to use my intuition and go miami..one, they start slow every year and finish strong, excluding last week..when in doubt, go with a defense at home, which miami is, new england on the road vs a jacksonville squad fighting for their playoff life makes for a battle..miami and jets is also a monday night game..new england, ny jets, and jacksonville all are playing for something, miami isn't, but once again i feel they'll be motivated and playing free, bringing alot of blitzes..gerard warren is out for new england, and jones drew is ballin...i think jacksonville is a better team then the jets as well..one thing i will say is that jacksonville and new england both should be under 20points this week in a clock burning battle..the jets could score more but i believe miami will have more sacks, int's etc..i have been having to go back and forth for about 6 weeks with these two defenses in terms of choosing one..i went the wrong way with miami when they played new england (29points in my league compared to 9 for new england) thats when i took miami seriously...last week was their worst outing vs buffalo, and they still scored 11, which is an average week in my league..both are solid plays but if you want upside, i say miami....new england against a lackluster jags passing game is certainly assured of being a safe bet though..i'm saying 12-17points with mid 20's potential but doubt it..lets remember that tennesee last week was the first team in a while to light up the jags offense..they scored 3 td's which don't happen every week..so it was kind of inflated..if your league awards sacks heavy...GO MIAMI..

New England has the No. 2 Defense in the League. With a win, they will clinch their division title.

Miami has a great defense, but after last week's loss (21-0); I don't see the Dolphins playing with any motivation since nothing is on the line.

I would go with New England.

The average combines score in each of the last 5 NE/Jax games has been 35.6 which shows how strong of defenses they play against one another. Over that span Jax has only scored on average 13.4 PPG. NE has the 2nd best overall D, with the 10th best road passing defense and 2nd best road rushing defense (which is capable of neutralizing the 4th best home rushing offense.)

Although Miami has the 5th best defense in terms of points allowed this season and the 5th best home passing defense, the Jets have scored 17 points or more in each of their 6 games (including 3 in Miami.) Plus Miami's home stats have been skewed having played bad/below-average teams such as the early-season Bills, pre-Vince Young Tennessee, Green Bay and Minny.

Go with Miami Defense. They will be coming out and looking to redeem their selfs after the crappie outing they had last weekend against the Bills.

Miami's at home against the Jets and N.E. travels to Jacksonville.
I would think that Miami has a better chance even though the Jets put up some good numbers last week.
Jacksonville has played well against good teams, I don't see N.E. doing well against them.

IMO, I would go with Miami.

New england, miami isnt doin so hot. But then again, they usually beat the harder teams and suck it up for the easy ones. I would go with New England.
