I'm watching and listening to the wrong news networks.. . .. apparently anyway !!

I must be completely uninformed, because I've never heard of ANY Christian Group that plans on destroying Israel, Buddhists, Hindus, the USA, or any other country or religion !!
On the other hand, I have learned from the Terrorists MOUTHS exactly what they plan on destroying !!

Where are these Christians hiding.. .. . . . . the ones who are hellbent on chopping off the heads of innocent civilians, acquiring WMD's, and COWARDLY TERRORIST KILLINGS ???
Please, do tell !!

Every religion can be abused to justify violence.Do you remember the IRA and counter groups?Well you'll probably dismiss the links anyway but here you go.
I think Tony Blair said it best"This is not a clash between civilizations, this is a war about civilization."
We really should embrace moderate Islam so Muslims can feel like they have a choice. And I'm no expert but do believe, despite the way it's been hijacked by fanatics that Islam can be and in the core is a peaceful religion.

Someone must be making the comparisons again, it's seen often. Our country's Christian Fundamentalists are not violent in general, save the few nuts blowing up abortion clinics. In subversive organizations, like the KKK, or small militia groups (such as the one in MI), they do use "Christian" principles to support their agendas. But that will always be so, and I believe the government keeps an eye on most of these people.

I think the comparison is more based in idealogy. Simply put, the belief that no one but them is righteous or God-fearing and their single-minded attention to that concept, which rises to the top over country, patriotism, etc. Yes, the Christian Fundmentalists would love nothing more than to live under a theocracy, they would dispense with our Constitution in a heartbeat, in favor of the KJV replacing it. The key though is that Islamic fundies are willing to murder to get to their "goals" and Christian fundies are not. At least not in this century, or the last (they have been known to march in the name of Christianity with swords in their hands in the far past, that we all know).

But, no, give a Christian fundie a plane and a free hand and they aren't going to use it to murder those who disagree with them. Anyone who suggests this is being overdramatic, to say the least.

There is no comparisons between a fundamentalist Christian and an Islamic Crusader. I cringe every time I hear the expression, "Islamic Fundamentalist", or when news commentators lump Muslim and Christian Fundamentalism together.

The proper term for these Islamic radicals is not "Fundamentalist", rather we should use the terms Islamofascists, or Islamic Crusaders.
