These are leftovers from the extensive testing process a game goes through. The cheats allow programmers and developers to go through the game in search of bugs. They often kindly leave them in, and the result is a cheat code.

So the testers can check and see if there is a glitch or bug in the game. And then afterwards they leave them in so people that have completed or not completed the game can use it to have alot of fun.

Some cheats are testing code or deliberate (level skip, infinite health), some are bugs or glitches that can be exploited and others are jokes added by the developers.

It's so that games testers can progress through very rapidly, without having to play the whole game.

They make them so that people who play the games like harder ones it will make them easier to play. I like cheat codes lol. I am glad that they have them too.

The main reason I can think of is so that when making the games they can quikly access the levels, weapsons, ect... so that they can be tested.

it is so the testers can get threw is quickly and so they can try and sell ppl the cheat books so there is a bit more money init for them

CAUSE THEY CAN GETS YOU TOO BUT THE CHEAT DISC AND BOOK AND THERE MAGAZINE THEY ARE MAKEING MONEY
