Ditto, most gay guys I know are delightful people. This is a good life lesson about getting to know people for who they are, and not comdemning them out of hand for narrow-minded, outdated religious/social reasons.

As I'm sure you already know, people have a fundamental need to characterize others and pigeonhole them into little categories so they can isolate them and feel better about themselves in doing so. Whether a person's homophobia is social, political or religious in nature, it's still usually the symptom of an insecurity in one's own sexuality or identity.
Furthermore, it may help you to realize that all gay males are not necessarily adorable any more than all straight males are. Gay men can be jerks just as anyone else can be. They're just people, and as such they run the gamut of personalities (and personality flaws).

It's not about being adorable... they're not bear cubs. They're men who love men. It's about ignorance and lack of tolerance that you must address. You will never receive an answer that will suffice. People believe what they want, and it's usually nonfactual nonsense built on lies they tell themselves in order to feel above someone else. It's not worth the inquiry really... just don't you be one of them and you've done your part.

Some people are just really scared of people who are different, whether they be another color or of a different sexual orientation than themselves.

Some people are made so anxious by their own homosexual tendencies that they banish these to their unconscious, and attempt to reassure themselves and others of how "1000% straight" they are by putting down people who are overtly homosexual. (It's a fact; studies have shown that homophobic "straight" males show greater sexual arousal to homoerotic stimuli than their non-homophobic counterparts.)

In either case, the hate and anger are merely ways to disguise fear. Yoda was so right.

You want people to hate them so that they will need you so that you can call them adorable so that you can treat them like pets so you can feel self confident in knowing you are so open minded and accepting.

I don't hate them, and not everyone does, but the thing with alot of people is that they are ok with it, as long as they don't see tehm kissing or something, alot of guys are just insucure abotu themselves and when they see that they think its wrong, or that tehy are going to hit on them..
and you know alot of guys are like, it's an exit not an entrance..

I don't hate them. They are usually very gentle loving people. I find that they can communicate with women very easily.
