Morton's (by South Coast) is supposed to be really good, but the last time I was there, I didn't really enjoy it. The best place in the OC, I think, is Ruth's Chris. There are several locations. I've been to the one in Irvine and it is truly delish. The creamed spinach side is really good, I remember.
If you're ever in LA, the best place that I've been to is Nick and Stef's in the downtown area. It's run by the Patina group, so you know it's going to be good.
The best place that I've had prime rib is Five Crowns in Corona del Mar, if you want prime rib. Save that for next time!

A really good top end steak house is Mastros in Costa Mesa. I've eaten at the one in Beverly Hills (it is a small chain that started in Arizona.) I'd recommend it.
Morton's is also good.

Mortons in Costa Mesa has really good steak!! Or there is Las Brisas(I dono if i spelled it right) in Laguna Beach.

hi,,, i see many people here enjoy chain overpriced steak houses! for a great steak/ atmosphere, service, try Scotts... very close to so. coast plaza... always honest food

1. flemming's prime steakhouse & wine bar: fashion island
2. morton's: south coast plaza
3. mastro's: south coast plaza
4. landmark steakhouse: corona del mar
5. the bungalow: newport beach
6. savannah chophouse: laguna niguel
