Most people don't grow up with any exposure to classical music. Once they do have the chance to hear it, it's not as "exciting" to them as modern music. There's nothing to sing along with. They just find it boring.

I've always loved classical music. I'll listen to it on the radio whenever I'm inclined. I have a few CDs I listen to. Of course there will always be my favorite pieces that I listen to on a regular basis. Classical is always emotional or meditative.

I love classical music and grew up listening to it. I think people don't know much about it and have a resistance to something they don't understand. Perhaps also they are intimidated, afraid they will not know what they are listening to or how to relate to it.
