My husband and I want to try and have a baby in the new year. My husband is a health nut and he's on all sorts of vitamins and supplements and some of them include Enzyte (just to name one) would it hurt our chances since he's taking vitamins and supplements? Also what are some pointers and tips on ways to conceive

If you have a 28 day cycle then you are likely to ovulate around the 14th day after your period. You would want to have sex before during and after this time! Have sex every other day cause everyday will lower his sperm count!

No, your husband's actions are actually increasing the chances of you getting pregnant! Plus it will make the enviorment healthier for the baby!!!!! You could take some as well. It's important that you have a certain amount of folic acid in your blood stream when you conceive!!! A way that I hear alot of people mention is to have sex every other day, and afterwards, hold your legs straight up in the air, with two pillows underneath your hips for about 10 minutes. Good luck, and best wishes!!!

This is my standard answer......... go get a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler
This book will help you with all of your menstrual and conception questions. It’s for all women - not just women trying to conceive. It covers everything from temperature to mucus checking, etc.. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive – or not! It tells you how to figure out your cycle and what to expect. My husband and I tried for a year to conceive and nothing happened. The first month I used the book we conceived right away. Now I am due Feb 2. It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths!

If you haven't conceived in 6 months all the supplements in world will not help. You need to contact a OB that specializes in fertility problems. It could be either one of you so you BOTH need to be tested. In more and more cases now it's the husband that has the problem. So be prepared for either one. Most everyone I know in this situation it has been the husband. They do have treatment for most of the male problems.

I don't know that all the Vitamins that you husband is taking would hurt you. If I were you I would start taking a multi Vitamin yourself with folic acid in it. Also if you are having trouble conceiving chart your cycles and start having sex every other day.

Ask your doctor. His vitamins should only influence the health of his sperm, nothing else. As for baby making, have sex on the 10th, 12th, 14th, 16th, and 18th days after the first bleeding day of your period. That should cover your ovulation even if its late or early. Otherwise, sex everyother day is what is recommended. It gives his sperm a chance to restock and keeps active sperm inside you at all times. Otherwise its all chance.
