By law you're to have a prescription in order to purchase contact lenses. Contact lenses are considered a medical device and are regulated by the FDA. You need to know what base curve & diamater you need plus if you do need a correction for your vision. If you do find someplace that will sell them to you without a prescription and there's a problem you are out of luck.
Go to an Optometrist and have your eyes checked, they may also order you trial lenses so you can make sure the lenses are exactly what you want, and you'll be sure to have the correct fit.

If you don't need a prescription, I know a place where you can get costume contacts, like on the movies. They come in many styles and colors, but they are expensive. Try this: vampfangs.com . As far as I know, no pharmacies sell contacts......but I could be wrong. If you've never dealt with contacts before, then you may want to go to an eye doctor, to be on the safe side. Hope I've helped you out.

Well tiger eye is always a good way to go, they way your personality sounds, don't go for solid color, go for many colors. It's more fun that way. You're going to an eye doctor for colored contacts? I bought mine from some guy and so far no problems.

Well i bought mine from an optician
It is always safer to go to an eye doctor to have a proper check up
My sis was wearing color contact lenses for 2 years and she got to know that she actually couldnt wear them due to astigmatism
So i would recommend you to go to an eye doctor for a check up.
Ive never seen any pharmacy selling contact lenses.
Besides that, Opticians are responsible to check your eyes before selling them to you =)
Good Luck
Hopefully this helped =)

just head to any optical shops! you don't have to see a doctor before you get them :) if you need, there will be opticians there to answer any of your doubts on the contact lenses you are buying and to guide you on the safe practices of contact lens wear.

BUT if you are having or used to have medical problems with your eyes, i suggest you consult a GP or Ophthalmologist first to verify that you are suitable to wear contact lenses.

And do take care while you are wearing your lenses, as I have friends who experienced medical problems as serious as corneal ulcers after prolonged wearing of contact lenses. I'm not sure if it's just pure coincidence, but all of them are Coloured or Cosmetic contact lens users.

You can buy the non-prescription ones online. However, if you wear glasses or contacts, you must meet with an optician. In any case, before you put anything in your eyes (they are so delicate), it doesn't hurt to get professional help.

check http://www.lenscompare.com
They have 5 merchants, maybe some of them sell contact lenses without prescription.

You can compare prices at the site also.

Good luck!

you can go to other places, but it's best to get them from an eye doctor, just to be certain that they are good for you. it's just a better idea.
