first of all...i hate this "bad sport" guy's comment....what does he mean by theres something wrong with your brain?? i think there's something wrong with his brain himself that he's close-minded and i suggest he should start opening up that little pea sized brain.

just find a best place thats "professional" and clean. make sure they use gloves and new clamps, etc. talk to the piercer before doing it...i'm sure they wouldnt mind giving advice. it doesnt hurt, but it takes a while to heal. try not to eat solid food like steak, ham, sausages, whatever that you may find it hard to chew at first. when i had mine done, i had poridge and boiled vegetables for weeks. make sure that every morning and night after you brush your teeth, mix 1/4 of mouthwash with water and clean up your piercing. it will make it heal faster. pure mouthwash might sting way too much at first. good luck!

The best thing you could do is go to a Tattoo Parlor in your area that has a Great Reputation for Being Sanitary and is up to Health Codes. Then once you get your tongue pierced you HAVE to make sure you take it out and brush the tongue and bacterialize the ring. To make sure it doesn't get infected. And try not to play with it a lot...it could cause chipping of the teeth. Hope this helps.

To each his own I guess... not something I would ever want to do. Just be sure to think about it, because the tongue doesn't regrow. Once you put the hole there, it's there for the rest of your life. It will be there on your wedding day, it will be there when your first child is born, it will be there when you turn 50, it will always be there. If you still want to do this, have it done by a professional. Not just any old tatoo piercing place on the street, do your homework. I got a piercing in college and didn't know the guy who did it. Aparently he did something wrong because it would never heal, and became horribly infected. Mine was in my navel, and I could not imagine having an infection like that in my mouth. So just be careful, and do your homework on it first! Merry Christmas!

Don't. Period.

The human tongue is not a skin flap! It is a vital organ, containing many nerve pathways and sensory receptors. You wouldn't pierce your liver or your lungs, would you? In Reflexology, there is a belief that there are many pressure points on the tongue that are directly connected to other parts of your body, including the other organs - therefore, piercing one of those points could in theory decrease function of the connected organ/area of the body.

Besides, it will make you talk with an annoying clicking lisp.

If you are gonna get anything pierced besides your ears can I suggest you do your nose or bellybutton or eyebrow?

When yuo pierce your tongue food gets trapped in the hole and other bacteria that can lead to bad infections!

I so am not against body piercings but for your own health it is best to keep away from tongue piercings.

I hope that I helped you!

Ensure that you investigate the Tattoo and body piercing salons in your area very well...talk to others who have had theirs done and ensure that the place you go to is clean and professional.

Talking to anyone with piercings will uncover which salons to stay away from...

Absolutely do not attempt to have this done by anyone other than a professional, high quality piercing studio...it isn't worth the risk

First, get your head examined, because there must be something wrong with it. tongue piercing came about because of mouth to genital copulation. It is not decorative in any way and most people who do it,report difficulty in speaking normally, less ability to taste, and more frequent sore throats. Don't do it because you thing it is cool, almost any other piercing would be better.
