It should give you the option to select the start up mode when the PC is rebooted.
Otherwise, windows XP contains a system restore option, under "Programs/Accessories/Program Tools/"
This will allow you to restore back to a specific point before the time you downloaded the updates. Take note... XP only allocates some space to this so it may not be possible to get a specific date

To get out of the Windows 2000 / XP Safe mode, as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" . Use your arrow keys to move to "Normal" and press your Enter key

1) Run ccleaner to clean system junk

following steps apply to winxp
2) click on start > run. Type msconfig. press ok. Click on BOOT.INI. See if the box that says /SAFEBOOT is checked. Uncheck it. Press apply. press close. Press restart. The computer will restart. Upon restart it will display a window, check the box in it and press ok to close it.
3) restore your computer to an earlier date using system restore tool in start > all programs > accessories > System Tools > System Restore

IN SAFE MODE HAVE YOU DONE A SCAN DISK & DEFRAG , ALSO RUN YOUR ANTIVIRUS . THEN RESTART WHEN DONE
have you cleared out all the junk in IE if not do it
clear out the cookies & temp files in there also history

Oh pass into your bios, press like F10 or something to head into setup from there there could desire to be an option decrease than boot and then pass into PCI-E if the cardboard runs on the PCI-E slot, if it basically runs on the PCI then pass into the PCI. ensure you unistall your drivers for the 1st card before installation the recent card
