My laptop shuts down without warning a lot, I figured out that the connection where the adapter plugs in needs to be replaced. It also shuts down when it is on a flat surface and overheats so I prop it up a bit on my lap desk, that seems to help.

If it is just dying on you and shutting down you have a couple of issues you have to look for.

1> run a comple scan for mal ware...some bugs can simply cause your computer to shut itself off...this is the easiest...the rest may be hardware issues.

2> if your computer isshutting down ith no warning (just to 0ff) you may have an issue with your power source (outlet, surge protector, or on-board power converter) you may also be having a problem with your motherboard...it may be pooping out on you,

you really should have a technician look at it.

Off hand I will say the Processor overheats? Listen to hear if the fan is running. If, it a desktop, it easy to remove a side panel and blow the dust out with a can of air made for this.
