actually Jesus is thought to have been born in August. The date of Christmas goes back to a Roman harvest festival which occurred in late Dec.

Actually December 25 was once known as Saturnalia, the birthday of the Roman Sun God. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with Jesus.

i meen common he was jewish!
and christmas wasnt a festival then!
december 25th cam about because of a date in the roman calendar that we quite liked!(it was all about light and the days starting to get longer again) and giving presents and decorating your houses)

he wasn't he was born in october, the festival celebrated at christmas belongs the the ancient roman sun god called mithras, christians took over this festival after mithraism died out. Ask any Jehovah's Witness when 'jesus' was born.

In fact he wasn't born on Christmas day but in October. The December date coincided with several festivals in other religions, so it was a political decision, to please the majority.
