Take your time dear!!! You have your whole life ahead of you & you have so much more in life to experience before you want to take this life committment step. A man 40 & over are set in their ways & most likely, he will want to have some control over you. BE CAREFUL of this!! The best thing for you is to continue w/your educational career-----are you in college? planning on going to college? This will be one of the best things you can do & to get your degree in order that you have not only a j-o-b but a CAREER! Then afterwards, have yourself a banging wedding w/all the trimmings!!

18, in most states, in the USA. Unless you have parental permission. If you have permission, you can, usually get married as young as 16. 15 in some states. A couple of states its 14.
One or two is 13, with permission.
Your spouse, legally, can be any age thats old enough to get married.
Age is just a number. It's not a really big deal to marry someone a lot older than you. My husband is 16 years older than me. My father is 23 years older than my mother. My grandfather was 25 years older than my grandmother. My sister is married to a guy 30 years older than she is. One of my best guy friends married a woman 26 years older than he was.
All those marriages have worked out fine. What's more important is that you love each other and want to be together.

You have to be 18 to get married w/o your parents permission. Age means very little after 18. After 18, maturity is the most important thing.
Concerning the age gap mentioned. I would be leary of a long-term relationship with that sort of age spread. You are nearly 2 generations apart and I would worry that you would be a trophy wife. (IE. Getting used for your youth)
n the end it comes down to the people involved, but be aware that when people see you together they will either think he is your father, or you are a gold digger, or his mid-life crisis play thing. People believe the worse before they can even comprehend the good.

The legal age is 18. I don't think age should matter, but you should be sure before you make the plunge. Like do you want kids? Does he at that age? Are you still going to be happy in 20 years when he's a senior citizen and you are still in your prime? Will you be embarassed to be seen with an old wrinkled man when you look so young and people will be asking if that's your father. Just think everything through before you make the decision. God bless!

I think 18 is alittle to young. I got married at a young age... In a way I wish I would have waited and experienced single life alittle more. The age gap shouldn't matter as long as you are compatible with your companion. You should always keep in mind though when you get in a relationship with someone so much older than you they are going to be set in their ways, they will not change. So, make sure you are satisfied with the way they are.

a girl can marry when she is 18 but it is better to marry 3yrs later to have more maturity. and the age gap should be less because both must have same understanding capacity & also same view on different things which will only be possible when age gap is less than 8-10, else there will be communication gap between the two

It depends on the state as for how old you can legally marry. It is no ones right to decide for you. If you are concerned over what others think maybe you should look at you question a little harder. It does not matter how old you are or how old the guy is. I think the answer to your question lies within your question. You know the answer.

When you get to a point in life where you are not so worried about what everyone else thinks, you will have matured enough to wed. Your spouse can be as old or as young as you like, provided you are not breaking any age related laws.

Minimum marriage varies by state...
Between 14 & 18 ....
An 18 yr. old female can marry a 40 yr. old male and it is fine...
Many older men are looking for "Trophy Wives"...
Make sure you are careful in your selection of men..
Check his credit rating, financial background & stability, job, money, car, credit cards, future prospects etc. etc..
Get a good Pre-Nup so you are guaranteed to be well taken care of....Not many 18yr. olds are wise enough to go this route...
It is as easy to love a rich man as it is a poor man...
Older, more mature men are guaranteed to take better care of you.

I think the same maturity level is important, not really the age .People need to be able to have alot in common to b able to understand where each others lives are going if they are going to have a quality relationship.
