Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometry. Conventional IR scans the spectrum over time, measuring absorption versus wavelength. FTIR pulses the sample with all wavelengths at once, then performs a mathematical treatment called Fourier transform on the combined signal to extract the spectrum.
