Tylenol is pretty much the only safe painkiller during pregnancy. My doctor told me I could take extra strength tylenol, at the full reccomended dosage listed on the bottle.
Your doctor should have a list of "safe" medications they can give you - if not, you can always call to ask them if something you want to take is ok. That's what they are there for!

Are you taking your prenatal vitamins? The reason I ask is that headaches can be caused by iron and vitamin B deficiency. I would mention it to your doc at your next appointment. In the meantime, try this...go to the store or go to a restaraunt and get a big juicy steak for dinner. Sounds crazy I know, but it you have a headache and you eat the steak and it soon goes away....that is a way to tell if you are lacking Iron and Vit B. If you are taking your prenatal vits and the steak thing works...you may need an additional supplement.
I had the same problem and my dentist actually told me about the steak thing....IT WORKED.
I told my doc and sure enough, I needed an additional supplement and am proud to say that I haven't had a headache like that in over 5 months. THANK GOD!
Good luck and Congratulations!

I suffered from headaches during pregnancy and they told me it was ok to take a tylenol . . . when I suffered with sinus headaches I was told it was also OK to take sudafed. But since this is your first trimester, call your doctor to be sure.

Tylenol is one of the few things that they do say you can take while PG.
You might also try some peppermint tea and peppermint or lavendar aromatherapy.

Do you have them all the time? If so, you need to tell your doctor. It could be several things. Have you been drinking plenty of water? Also try a warm compress (washcloth in warm water).
