how does google earn it's huge salary off our searches on google.com ??

They have Sponsered results people that pay to have their listings show up mostly the first 3 on top search and then the ones on the right are sponsered it is called google adwords
For example if i had a site i wanted to show up on google - would choose my keywords hopefully something your searching for and would make my top bid as 20 cents then if you clicked on my ad on the right or the top 3 from the search result i would have to pay google 20 cents also they have google adsense which is what most webmasters put on there websites it is also google search results but on individual websites and the 20 cents mentioned before would be split between the webmaster that was showing the google ads (adsense) and google

Google sells advertising to businesses. The rates they charge for advertising are based on how many people are competing for specific keywords.
Nobody needs to click on an ad for Google to get paid. If people stop clicking on ads, the benefits of advertising with Google goes away.
Google also sells "pro" versions of their software, and other services related to their products. Sketchup is an example of this - you can download Sketchup for free, or you can pay a few hundred dollars and use the expanded version.

google makes there money from advertising and there email. alsom by google adwords. lots of people pay to have there listing in the frist 10 results of google search. just like any other place like yahoo or aol. you wouldent believe how much money they make from advertising. like the new company called dubbest inc at dubbest.com there a media company every thing is free but they also advertising sites for money. thats how they make there money and thats partly how google does to but just with more services making money.

People pay to put their ads on google. So when someone accidently clicks on a link they didn't mean to, or an advertisement, Google makes a profit.
