This is a common (and lame) interview question. Here's the stock answer technique. Make your weakness into a strength, like "My biggest weakness is probably that I can be a perfectionist -- that I just have to have every detail done right, especially if my name is going on the project." Or "My biggest weakness is probably my impatience. I can be very short with people when dealing with incompetence, particularly when that incompetence is affecting our bottom line."
Regarding your strength, keep it consistent with your weakness. If you said your biggest weakness was impatience, don't say your biggest strength is your patience! Stick to safe things like "My strongest points are my communication skills and practicality - I encourage out-of-the-box thinking and am open to all innovative suggestions, and yet analytical, practical, and decisive when it is time to move forward."
I have been recommending "Knock 'Em Dead Interviews" for more than ten years. It's available on Amazon.com.
Good luck!

That's really a nasty question. What the hell are you supposed to say, "I come in late a lot?" Why would you hurt yourself here, the whole point is to sell your strengths. Anyone asking this question is a dork; there are 1,000 better questions to ask. The proper retort is "If you're a manager and get paid so much, why can't you think of better questions?" PS Don't say that. So tell him you get into chocolate a lot or root for the Cubs. If he presses tell him you're a professional and get advice & feedback from your manager often to avoid letting any weaknesses get in the way of job performance. Since you've been doing that, no weaknesses have been able to develop into problems. Sorry to go on; that question is a pet peeve of mine. Good for you to prepare yourself for interview questions.

After I read this I realized it could sound mean...it wasn't meant to be mean. It was supposed to be kind of funny.
My weakness is that I don't have enough confidence in myself to go to an interview without asking others what I need to say in order to succeed.
My strength is that I know how to use resources to get the information I need. This is not to be under-rated; the difference between an honor student and an average student is not that the honor student knows everything but that he knows where to find the answer.

Employers are looking for certain answers and the way you answer the questions when they ask these two.
As far as your strengths, list strengths that pertain to the job.. for instance, if you are applying for a position that requires teamwork, you'd list one of your strengths as being a fantastic team player.
As far as weaknesses, you want to show them that you are self-aware AND that you've grown as a person.. so you'd say something like, " I have found that in the past I would tend to put off projects until the last minute. After learning time management techniques, I've found a way to prioritize all my tasks to accomplish them before their deadlines".. it's really the way you package it when you are answering.
I hope this helps.

Strengths: Organized, team worker, quick learner, etc.
Weaknesses - you need to turn your weakness into a strength: I am a perfectionist and like everything done right, so I tend to spend extra time on projects until it meets my requirements
Also, just google it. You'll find a lot of examples out there.

Tell them that your weaknesses are stealing, cheating, and telling lies. But your strengths are that you are a good liar, and you mastered the art of cheating and stealing.
