Our family usually eats at about three o'clock. I wouldn't suggest going much later than five that if you are including small children. They get more and more cranky the later it gets. Best to do it right after their naps.

If there are people who are going to more than one celebation that day (couples with two families in town, kids from divorced families, etc), it's a good idea to make some attempt to coordinate the festivities.

Some people start it at 5 others at 7 p.m., but I think it starts as soon as the ham and the turkey are ready.
