My opinion of the difference between a gang and a cult is anyone can join a cult if you are willing to adopt their beliefs and habits, but a gang has to want you to join.

A cult is a group of people who come together to worship one thing or other and they keep to themselves and what they believe.

A cult usually has religion ideology to it. A gang is just a group of thugs who feel some kind of power in a group but are nothing as an individual

A gang on the whole they will exclude others... for different reasons. work gangs will try and get higher wages, street gangs will try and keep others from joing them.

A cult is a group that will try to get more members by inticing them in with little rewards, mentally and physically.

A gang gets together for evil reasons to make unjust profit.
A cult is inspired by a man who wants to be worshipped.
Has secret meetings and you cannot leave his cult.
He becomes the object of their worship.
Technically a cult has to have a living human leader.
Who says he has been established by God. God talks only to him. In other words a fantical Relgious leader.

A gang just implies a group of people bonded by security or gain. Cult implies they are bonded more by common beliefs or interests.
